Wasps find our special fermenting lure irresistable, they enter this attractive glass wasp trap through a cunningly shaped funnel entrance hole in the base; once inside there is no escape. (The 2.5 litre wasp lure solution is normally £20 or £10 if bought at the same time as the traps).

Bees and wasps have different flying abilities, beneficial bees cannot fly directly upwards and are therefore unable to enter the trap.

How does this wasp catcher actually work?
All known European wasps are attracted by the scent of the special fermenting lure. Once inside the wasps become disorientated, continuously heading upwards towards the strongest source of light. Eventually the wasps become exhausted and drown in the lure below.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?
We usually deliver next day to any UK destination. Occasionally it takes 2 days.

Is the designer trap just a wasp trap and where should I position them?
No, it attracts and kills hornets, flies but not beneficial bees. They should be positioned around but slightly away from the areas of the garden you want protecting, they can be hung from trees, posts, fences or walls etc.

Are they safe?
The wasp lure solution is a safe non-toxic solution. We do recommend that the traps should be put out of reach of children and when cleaning follow the instructions set out in the next question and answer.

How do you empty and clean the trap and will I get a wasp sting?
To clean the trap first put it on the grass so that no more wasps can enter it. By leaving it overnight all the wasps that were inside should be dead. To avoid getting a sting, ensure the wasps have stopped moving before emptying. Clean with warm soapy water.
